If your iPhones Lightning port has any dirt, lint, or debris, the charging cable and iPhone will not have a solid connection. If it has been some time since you cleaned the lightning port on your iPhone, it is very possible that the port is filled with pocket lint, which can make the connector fail to form a strong, consistent connection. Keep in mind that even a tiny amount of water within your iPhone Lightning port can short out the connection, which can not only harm your charging capabilities, but lead to more dire problems. If you do not see any obvious damage on the exterior of your cables, try plugging your iPhone into a USB port on a computer to charge, rather than using the wall adapter included in your iPhone.
